How do I buy Cryptocurrency?
Best exchanges and places to buy crypto.
Cash App – Many people already have Cash App to easily send money to friends and family. They might not realize, this is one of the easiest and most convenient places to buy, sell, send and receive bitcoin. You can purchase as little as $1 and as much as $10,000 in Bitcoin right from the app. Through the app you can send the bitcoin off to another wallet. Their fees are competative and the app is very user friendly. You do not need to have any technical knowledge of bitcoin to be able to get started with it today using Cash App. They only offer Bitcoin and Jack Dorsey has stated there is no plan to ever add any other cryptocurrencies to the platform. This shows their support and loyalty to the best and largest cryptocurrency in the world.
Coinbase – Coinbase is the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the US and offerss a wide range of cryptocurrency and digital assets. It is easy to setup a new account and start buying your first cryptocurrency. Although the ease of use and veriety is great, before buying any of the many options, be sure you know what the token or cryptocurrency actually is. There are a lot of options out there that are extremely speculative and have no unique use cases. While this is by far the minority of coins listed on Coinbase, it is always best to educate yourself prior to buying and cryptocurrency. For many of their offerings, Coinbase actually has a program called Earn. This program allows you to watch videos about specific cryptocurrencies that they sell and you are able to earn some of the tokens for learning about the asset.
Robinhood – One of the most popular stock apps, Robinhood added buying and selling Bitcoin and Ethereum. Just like their stock trades, buying and selling cryptocurrency has no transaction fee. This is great if you already have a brokerage account with Robinhood. One of the only downfalls using Robinhood, you cannot transfer your crypto off the platform. This means you truly do not own your Bitcoin or Ethereum as you must sell the cryptocurrency before withdrawling the value. Always remember, not your keys not your coins. If you cannot securely store your coins and know your private key, someone else is holding your coins and if something were to happen with this 3rd party, you would have no recourse.
In the next section, we will show you what wallet and storage options are available and how easy it is to store your cryptocurrency securely with a hardware wallet. This is why we recommend hardware wallets to everyone who owns cryptocurrency.
